Flex-Tec Epoxy Tint

$12.95

2-oz container of powdered epoxy tint.

Adding a color agent to ART Flex-Tech HV is frequently done to make colored castings, repair natural wood surfaces, act as a colored base coat for paint, etc. ART’s dry powdered tinting compounds work well when you need color all the way through the repair.

Because epoxy is a nonporous material, it will not take stain like wood. To “stain” Flex Tec HV, it is necessary to add pigment to the wet epoxy in the mixing stage.

Adding pigment to epoxy should be done in moderation. It’s always a good idea to experiment with a test batch, especially if you’re trying to match a specific color.

Epoxy, tinted or clear, does not have a good UV light resistance. An epoxy coating exposed to UV will yellow, become opaque, and eventually flake off. This process takes a while, and, if the object you are coating has limited exposure to sunlight, a colored epoxy will hold up for years. To protect a tinted finish from UV light, we suggest the application of spar marine type finish.

To use, follow the following steps:

  1. Dispense Flex-Tec HV

  2. Mix thoroughly.

  3. Add Art's epoxy tint to the mix using the supplied measuring scoop.

  4. Mix thoroughly.
